Teranex 2D users out there?
Posted by Carl Schuurbiers on July 18, 2012 at 5:17 pmIs there anybody out there that actually has one of these units?
How is the HD->SD conversion quality? How does this compare to a Kona3?
Thanks,
Carl.

July 18, 2012 at 8:36 pmCarl,
all of the conversion parameters in this device came from the original Teranex VC100 and are some of the best in the industry. I believe this is scheduled to ship at the end of the month.

July 19, 2012 at 11:56 pmI would not be surprised if it starts shipping by IBC (September). By then it will probably have some new features not previously announced. Maybe they will include an extra thunderbolt port (2) for daisy chain. Also, it would be nice if they add the option to hook it up to a non-thunderbolt computer such as the Mac Pro or HP Z820, you know, like the old Multibridge.

July 23, 2012 at 1:28 pmOk, thanks for your responses. On the Blackmagic website it says “shipping in july”, but apparently this will take a bit longer.
We’ll wait and see…
Carl.

July 31, 2012 at 4:36 pmHas the 2D started shipping yet? Just curious if anyone has one and can give some feedback.
We are very interested in getting one in-house.

August 2, 2012 at 6:18 pmWould love to have some input from folks on this as well. We currently run AJA Kona on all our bays. However, we also run content through EPISODE to set delivery at Cable Labs Spec. If this box is capable of all that an AJA XT can do, + is capable of delivering better quality final video encoding than EPISODE, I’m in. Any advice?
