Tell me again how to bring in an AE file??
Posted by Julie Hill on September 23, 2006 at 1:05 amHaven’t used the proanimator for a long time, and when I did, I was just animating text. can somebody explain exactly how Illustrator files should be saved so they are usable in Zaxworks?

September 23, 2006 at 1:20 amHi scalvidgal,
Sure. Save your Illustrator art as Illustrator format. if you’re using CS or CS2, uncheck the compression check box when you save the file. Also, convert any text in the file to outlines and simplify the art to avoid graduated blends and other bit-map-based effects. Generally, simple closed and filled shapes work the best. Personally, I set my artwork up in layers because it makes replacing parts easier.
Does this help?

September 23, 2006 at 2:39 amThanks for the tip! It worked, but I can’t see my artwork in the scene preview! It’s really weird! There’s just a green bounding box w/nothing inside!

What version are you using? Do you see your object in the Set-Up window?
Send me your artwork if you like (serge_01 at msn dot com)
Salut.

Sometimes people leave stray points or objects in their Illustrator file. Depending on where those are located, it can really mess up positioning of the objects.
