Can Vegas 7 read the TC meta data in DV files captured in other applications or only with the DV capture module that comes with Vegas?

I did a search on the forum here to find out how to do a burn in of actual clip TC in Vegas 7. I found Gary’s reply about setting it in the Project Media tab, but that only seems to work for DV clips captured in Vegas.

I did a test capturing three DV clips, all Type-2 DV AVI. I captured one with Vegas 7, one with SpeedEDIT and one with WinDV.

I normally use WinDV for capture since it names the files based on time/date stamp, which is useful to me.

Anyway, of the three clips recorded, only the one captured in Vegas showed real clip TC in Vegas.

But all three of the clips showed their correct clip TC when I tried them in SpeedEDIT.

Are there different “standards” of TC metadata?

Any other way to get Vegas 7 to read the correct TC from the clip?

    Thanks.

I know it reads it from files captured with Scenalyzer Live.
