    Hi All

Im digitizing from an HDCAM SR Deck and Im getting TC breaks where no TC breaks exist. I’ve checked the masters by scrolling the deck and they are solid Network HDCAM SR QC masters. It isn’t dropped frames and the TC breaks are random 1 per 42 minute master

Im digitizing from HDCAM SR 23.98 to PRO RES 23.98.

    any ideas would help…thanks

It is a SYNC generator…one needed for HD decks. It is a more sophisticated form of BLACK BURST. Which is a means of sending SYNC to decks that ensure that they pay back at a steady rate. Without this connected to the deck, capturing or outputting will be impossible.

    You need this:

Ive never had to use one … I’ve captured and mastered to HDCAM SR for the past 2 years without one. It’s only now that I’ve gone to a new Mac Pro and Snow Leopard that it’s doing this. I have a Dual G5 with a Kona 2 and It’s capturing and laying off to this SR Deck without a skipped frame. I could punch in a single frame with it.

Any other ideas why this would happen..

Removed Lycom eSata card from lane 4 and moved Kona 3 Card to lane 3 and it’s TC break free .. Replacing Lycom eSata card with Tempo e4p hopefully she stays stable so we could work through this weekend… I’ll be picking up the GEN10 Tri Sync on monday .. Thanks for the info Shane and John !!

What is your Servo Reference on the deck set to? If we are capturing from our SRW-5500 and have it set to anything besides “input” we get phantom TC breaks left and right.
