I’ve seen similar posts here but they seem to pertain to Panasonic decks. I am capturing from a Sony J-30 and a TASCAM DA-98HR via the AJA Io. I frequently get “Tape Trouble” messages and/or aborted captures. This usually happens after about 10-15 minutes of capture.

I’ve read here that AJA has released a patch to fix polling intervals, but does anyone know if that is a problem specific to Pana decks, or could it help me too?

    Thanks!

I don’t think it’s specific to Panasonic decks. Call up AJA and they will direct you to where to download the polling update.

J-30 is a piece of shit. There will always be tape transfer problems with that.

Talked to AJA and they suggested it may be my RS 422 cabling, but after playing around with different cables I’m not getting much better results.

Apparently the polling patch is effective only with Panasonic decks.

And thanks, PetteriE, for your input – I will double-check those settings right now. I know the J decks have their faults, but this time it’s not limited only to the Sony. It’s also occurring independently on the TASCAM audio deck.
