    How would I go about doing the thing where I can be having a conversation with myself. Both images in the screen at the same time, talking to yourself.

    Crop the left and right movies and line them up.

    Green screen shots would make the seam a non-issue. Otherwise you might have to use a gradient mask and over lap the two shots.

    #1. Lock the camera down on a tripod so that it doesn’t move.
    I can’t stress this enough as it will make things much easier.
    #2. Frame the shot to ensure that you’ll be in it no matter which side you’re sitting on.
    #3. Shoot scene 1. Change seating sides. Shoot scene 2.
    If you can have someone else saying your other lines to you,it’ll help with the pacing. Just make sure not to verbally step on each other. Also, make sure to shoot a few seconds of extra footage at the beginning and end of each scene.
    #4. Use cookie cutter or a slide effect to split the screen to show both of “you”.
