  • Tab formatting with Text? (similar to MS Word)

I have a credit listing from my producer created in Microsoft Word. Most of it is standard single line centered text. But for the cast, it’s sort of split into left/right side. Character on left, actor on right. It’s ‘aligned’ by using left/right tabs. Do these tabs carry over to AFX 6.5? If not, am I able to somehow put in tabs for my text block?

Or do I need to create 2 seperate text blocks for the cast. One for the ‘left’, one for the ‘right’?

No, tabs are not supported in text layers. You need to have separate layers.

I’d seriously suggest using MS Word or preferably Illustrator or InDesign to create your text layout and export to a .pdf file (a very long one) and animate this file to scroll through the screen.

With ‘continuous rasterize’ enabled this will get you nice crisp graphics and ultimate control over the text.
