    Hello,

I’m new to photography in general, but had a little bit of a budget, so I got a T3i. I understand the basics, and I read the manual from start to finish.

I’m trying to shoot on a green screen using the Chromatte system. The problem is that something in the camera is changing the exposure automatically and washing out my green.

I have posted a video showing what happens when I move my arm in front of the lens. You can see the green changes drastically. Unfortunately this same effect also happens when the (darkly dressed) subject steps on the screen. The weird part? This still happens when the camera is in MANUAL. Clearly something is NOT in manual.

What do I have set wrong? How can I get the camera to stop auto-detecting the lighting and just let me control all the settings?

    Thanks in advance!

    Ernest

Try setting a custom white balance.
