    Hi –
I’m getting ready for a small job that’s being shot on the Sony PDW700 in XDCAM HD. The client is wondering if I can work at her office off of my MacBook Pro and I’m not sure it will be fast enough. I’ve only worked with XDCAM EX before, so I’m new to this format. It’s also a really tight turnaround so I really can’t afford any technical hold up. Oh. And it’s my first job for this client.

The MacBook has 4 GB memory and 2.53 intel duo processor. I think we’ll just be using external fire wire drives. Does that sound doable? I don’t think there will be any effects aside from a transition or title here and there. I believe the camera person will ingest the footage for us onto the drive, so I won’t need a kona card – right?
    Thanks for any advice!
