I keep losing System Preferences (SP). After clicking on the Apple and selecting System Preferences, the window does not appear. I have to do a computer reset for that to show up again. Then it appears – but only the first time. If I want SP again then I have to restart my computer.

There seems to be an OS X 12 update coming. Hope that fixes the problem.

    Thanks for any suggestions.

If you have set up multiple desktops or “Spaces” or, multiple displays, System Prefs might have been last opened in one of those environments, and it may not be visible unless you have all monitors up or can select which desktop / Space to view (CTL-right arrow/left arrow).

In the Dock, right-click (CTL-click) the System Prefs icon, in OPTIONS> see that either “This Desktop or “None” is selected.

That’s a good idea. Thanks Chuck. Yes I do have a second monitor but don’t use it all the time.

    Many thanks
