  • Synology: can’t map drives in Win 7 Pro

This has recently cropped up on a couple of systems. We’re running a Windows domain, most of the systems are Win 7 Pro. The problem I’m having on these systems is I can’t map the shared storage on either of our two Synology Diskstations. One of them is a DS413j and the other is a DS2015xs, both of which are running the latest version of Synology’s software. They both have fixed IP addresses and are entered in our DNS server. On the systems that refuse to map, they show up in Windows Explorer as “Other Devices” not in the computer part of the network listing. I can access them from the failing system via browser, FTP and ping. Just not as shared drives. I’ve tried the majority of the suggestions posted online elsewhere and I was hoping that someone here would have some ideas to try.
