Syncing timecode

I’m a bit unclear as to your overall question or goals, but when syncing Video to Audio with a common timecode, the resulting clip will be based on the sync timecode relationship between the two for the duration of the shortest clip of two clips being synced.

A video clip from 01:00:00:00 to 01:01:00:00 and an audio clip that is 00:59:00:00 to 01:02:00:00 will result in a clip that is 01:00:00:00 to 01:01:00:00. If the audio clip was subclipped in this example was 01:01:10:00 to 01:01:50:00, then the resulting sync clip will be 01:01:10:00 to 01:01:50:00. The same is true for video being subclipped. A resulting .sync subclip will never have filler (black) for either video or audio.

Thanks, I’d created subclip’s before syncing external sound to video. So I wanted to get to the bottom of how timecode operates between subclip’s and audio. I get you know, the audio will sync and be truncated based on the subclip’s timecode and vice versa.
