Sync’ing network files
I am wondering if there is a way within MacOSX or a third-party app that would allow me to automatically keep a local folder sync’ed with a folder on a network server. We do a lot of Final Cut Projects and the graphics dept. will provide us graphic elements on a Windows file server connected thru 100mb
ethernet. But importing these files into FinalCut directly from the network causes a bottleneck when it comes to playback, and worse, breaks the project if we lose connection with the server. But dragging copies locally before importing means a lot of time wasted GUI-jockeying (ie. minimize FCP, find the source folder, find the destination folder, drag, maximize FCP, import, repeat..) and causes confusion when it comes to updates of existing files.
I know of solutions in the Windows world, but what would fit the bill in OSX?
