Syncing multi-channel audio, line cut and 3 cameras
Hi guys
I’ve been freely giving advice and now I’m stuck. Can use your help.
Just shot awards ceremony and having sync issues-contents are
1) 3 separate cameras
2) Blackmagic switcher cutting between them and recording to BM Video assist
3) 24 track audio recording (Stereo plus 22 mono channels)Tried syncing by creating new multi-channel sequence, however it mixed all the audio down to mono. I’d like to edit using the stereo mix with separate channels as backup.
All cameras recorded audio. Cam A also has line feed from audio mixer. Both audio recorder and BM created new recordings every so many minutes according to their record length limitations.
Some people suggested merging clips but am told that’s not good method.

Merging clips doesn’t cause any problems with syncing but there’s a trick if you want to use a merged clip with another clip to make a multi-cam sequence.
Create the merged clip and then control click on it and select “new sequence from clip”. Then select the sequence you just created and select the other clip you want to sync and create your multi-camera source sequence.
