    Gary,
I guess it depends on what you mean by easy. It also depends on how you get the “clips” in the first place. i.e. If you capture the audio and video as one clip, would finding an audio pattern on a clip, apply a marker, then finding an audio pattern on the second clip where the same audio pattern occurs, then apply a marker to that, then line them up easy enough? (It should be easy especially if you plan ahead during taping.) Everything can be much easier if you plan.

I don’t fully understand your question. Are you synching the audio and video in clips from two seperate cameras/tapes you have shot simultaneously?

The best way to do this would is in the planning before the shoot as the other post suggests. Using a clapper board for a sync reference point will save you a lot of headaches in the edit.

If you have shot your subject on two cameras continously, without a break in the tapes, you could simply capture and lay down the entire tapes on the timeline, synch them by eye/ear and then cut to and from the different camera set ups.

As for an automated/easy way of doing this, there isn’t one I know of

    Best of luck

Let me explain better. I’m wanting to synch a certain point in a music track with a certain point in voice over track. Peter I think I understand what you said. What I’m not sure of is there a way to put a maker on a specific clip? If so, how? Further, so I have two markers, is there a way to automate synching them or do you just drag them until they meet? Hopefully this better explains my question. Thanks, Gary

    Gary,
First, my name is really Perry, if that’s who you are referring to as “Peter”. Haha…

Second, yes, if you have 2 markers on 2 various clips, they will snap together at least or I think there is a way to automatically join them as well. If your clips (Audio and Video are sepearated, then, it will be harder, somehow you have to sync up the audio to video first and group them.

    Best wish,
    Perry
