Basic and simple question. I can’t seem to figure out how to move a clip other than clicking and dragging it. I am trying to synch an audio file with a video clip. When I click and drag the audio file it moves by 1 second at a time. Basically what I’m asking is… how do I manually change a clips start and stop time? The place where I want the audio to begin playing is mid movie and I’d like to add a PRECISE start location.

    Thanks for any help.

Option+left or right arrow to nudge (frame by frame) hold shift at the same time and you will nudge by multiple frames.

Also, if you are syncing add a marker to the audio or video or both in the timeline and use that as a visual.

Then you can select the slip tool and use the bracket to slip frame by frame or add shift+brackets to do a multi frame slip.

PS: The are a few plugins that will do most of the work for you. If you are doing alot of this then maybe worth the investment.

Before you bring your audio down to the timeline, open it in the viewer. You can set an IN point (I) to represent the start of your footage.
