Sync issues laying off to HDCAM
A couple other editors in my shop are reporting sync problems when trying to lay off an XDCAM EX sequence to HDCAM through a Kona 3 card. I’ve only laid off XDCAM EX to HDCAM once, but I didn’t have any problems (at least not once I realized that the XDCAM EX Easy Setups default to giving you no audio/video output via edit to tape). Has anyone else had any issues with sync when outputting to tape?

Anything’s possible- are they trying to play out an unrendered timeline? They should try exporting a self-contained movie of their edit, then playing that out.

No, the timeline was fully rendered. The self-contained QT is a good idea to try though.
