    Hey folks,

PPro has thrown some clip audio out of sync, despite the audio not having slipped frames.

Let me explain. The interview was filmed on the EX3 so it’s not like we’re syncing separate audio and video.

The raw clip is synced. The footage in the timeline is linked, so it’s not like the audio has simply slipped by a couple of frames. In fact, parts of the audio are in sync and it’s just a couple of sentences here and there where you can visibly see the mouth and the sound don’t match up.

I’ve xml’d out of PPro and imported into FCP, and it’s fine, all synced as it should be. So…

    1) The only thing I can think of is grading it through Magic Bullet Looks has ‘warped’ the sync in a couple of places. I’ve been having an issue with MBL not calling up the correct clip when you try to edit the Look before, so is it a bit buggy with PPro?

    2) Is sync a known issue with PPro that will be fixed for CS6?

    Cheers for any input!

Can you confirm that your video is being affected by framematching a raw clip to a cc’d one? Otherwise its an audio issue, and if its not a settings issue, then it might be a format issue (fyi always edit in wav).

Very hard to tell to be honest. As I said in the original post, it’s almost like the sync is warped rather than slipped, so telling if it’s the audio or video is impossible.

What I can say is that FCP7 has sorted it. And that audio in general on PPro really drags it down. I hear Adobe have plans for an overhaul in CS6, thank god…
