Sync issue
Can anyone help me with this problem. I am editing on an Avid Symphony Meridian system. It is tethered to a Sony DVW-A500 Digibeta deck. This is also the deck where I’m sure the Avid is getting it’s sync from.
All the footage I need to work with has been digitized (from the Digibeta) so I don’t necessarly need the deck. The deck went down and is in for repair (could be a week or better before I get it back) and now I can’t edit because I get an error message when I do…
Exception: Audio sample clock is not usable.Does anyone know what I can do so I can still continue to edit (short of renting a deck)? I also have a Beta SP deck, Sony UVW-1800. Can I pull sync from that? How?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

In your Video Output(!) Tool, choose Internal for Sync.

All I see in the Video Output Tool are things like phase and level settings. Am I not in the right area?

Without a system on front of me…
I’m going to say this has to do with your audio input being set to digital? The audio engine in the Avid is trying to lock to the input. Since you puled the deck, there isn’t one.
Under the settings tab > Audio Project > Input tab:
Change Audio input to analog. -
