  • Sync in QT, but not in sync in FCP

I have a DVCProHD 720p60 (23.98) clip. It is in sync with the audio in Quicktime Pro 7, but when imported into FCP (7.0.3) it is out of sync.

This happen in the Viewer and when placed in the timeline. The sequence settings appear to be correct. I have manually set them and used “match clip settings.”

I don’t understand how the video can be correct in QT and not work in FCP, especially since FCP uses QT as the backbone.

    Any help is much appreciated.

I am having similar issues. One work-around I found was to transcode the footage to an d external codec (i.e. H264) and then re-transcode back to the native codec. It seems to work for me intermittently, but it’s worth a try.

That seemed to work. I previously tried transcoding to ProRes422, but it didn’t help. Going to h.264 did.
    Thanks for the tip.
