SXS to Pro Disc
I need to archive video shot on SXS PRO sticks (20GBs). All the other video for the project and archive format used Sony PFD23a Discs. How do I transfer the video from sticks as clips to a disc. I want to keep the video on the sticks as clips so when the project has to be re-edited in the future the clips will line up with the project. I used XDCAM Transfer software to bring the clips in. I used a PMW-EX1 and a PDW-530. Thanks

If you used XD Transfer to bring them in then you have re-wrapped them as Quicktime files. I’m guessing that you use Final Cut, and after editing these files in FC you can export the finished master as XD Cam sequence, File/Export/Sony XD Cam that creates original XD cam files.
I know that there are some people writing data files to Blue Ray with Toast 10 and I’m about to tAKE this next step for archiving.

I have been using Bluray for a while now as storage medium. It works great.
This can be achieved just in Finder on a Mac (I have a LaCie FW BluRay burner).
If you wish to make BluRay Video Disks for Bluray set top (TV) players then you need Toast. You can also make Data Blurays with toast, but you don’t have to.
