Switching to PC from Mac – Exporting SD options
We’re switching to PC very soon and more often than we like we have to deliver shows and spots in SD.
One example is DirecTV requires an SD back of our HD spots.
One of the guys has a client who requires SD delivery for syndication purposes.
If only SD were dead, but it’s not.Once we make the switch to PC, what options will we have for creating ProRes422 quality SD files?
With no QT support for PC, will writing .mov files be a thing of the past?

You will need to ask for delivery specifications for that. MPEG2 IMX seems to be one SD format that broadcasters use a bunch and can be exported from Premiere. You can’t export Prores files on Windows from Premiere.

“No. Companies are now making their own encoders/decoders because Apple gave up on Windows support.
