Switching from Grass Valley to Final Cut Pro
Hello everyone!
I am a new member of the forum and have a question. I am currently editing on a Grass Valley aurara edit system. I am now trying to learn FCP. Has anyone had experience in going from one to another? Or have any hints on what the biggest differences are. Any tips on what kind of similar moves, but different icons do what? Any help would be much appreciative!!!

The only thing I can add is, you can re-map the keys in Final Cut, so that if you were in love with certain hot keys in Aurora, you can keep those combos you’re already used to. When we transitioned to FCP one super helpful thing was to buy dedicated FCP keyboards, with all the keys marked as to their functions and shrotcuts. Made things faster and easier to learn.

I recommend sitting through the training DVD that comes with the FCS suite. It’s how I got started with Final Cut.
