  • switching between PP and AE with Decklink Extreme

    Hi,
I’m using a decklink extreme, and I’ve always have After effects 7.0 and Premiere 2.0 open. I’ve noticed often (not always, but about 75% fo the time) that when I switch from AE to PP, and play the pp timeline, the sound in premiere goes away. Once I close AE, PP is fine. It seems like there’s a conflict with both cards trying to use the card. Anyone else find this, and is there a workaround?

I have unsuccessfully attempted to replicate this issue with a Decklink Extreme, Decklink 5..5.1, Premiere Pro 2.0 and After Effects 7.0.

Please can you send the format and system specifications to pcsupport@blackmagic-design.com

Off topic, but only slightly, I often experience a similar problem working with Final Cut Pro. For example, I have a dual mac 2ghz running latest OSX and FCPhd, with Decklink Extreme card currently connected to a SOny PVW-2800 betacam deck. When digitizing, sound from source fine. Once I quit out of capture mode, there is no sound in FCP and I need to quit out of FCP and then re-open to get sound from clips. Not a big deal so I’ve never mentioned this before.

Interesting. Haven’t seen that. I’ve also been able to recreate the problem when Windows media player is open. I think this might be causing the problem, because when I close WMP, the sound in premiere returned. I might be onto something….
    Thanks.
