  Switching audio output from Line to USB mixer – Symphony 6

  Howdy,

  I’ve switched over from FCP to Avid for a test run and cannot figure out what I would think to be a simple setting. How do I switch Symphony’s audio output to be through a USB mixer while keeping the computers sound output through “Line Out”. System details:

  Mac Pro, OS 10.7.5
  Symphony 6.0.1
  Behringer Q502 USB mixer

  In Avid’s Audio Project Settings, I see the USB mixer as in input option (“USB Audio CODEC”), however, there is no option to change paths in the “output” or “hardware” tabs. In the apple system preferences sound tab, if I switch output from “Line Out” to “USB Audio Codec”, signal path is fine, except I want only Avid audio to travel this stream, not computer audio.

  Is there a way to route audio from symphony to the usb mixer without using Apple’s sound preference? Thoughts? Thanks for your help!
