.swf files blank when brought into vegas HELP!
Hello,
I’ve been trying to import .swf files generated in flash cs3 into sony vegas to edit them together and create a movie. We like .swf files because they preserve the vectors, and thus, are small, fast and high quality exports. most files import, preview, and render fine from vegas.
However there are a handful of files that display red frames on the timeline (unreadable) therefore they appear black in the preview window, and render black as well.
We originally exported out as flash player 5, I’ve tried 9 and 6 to no avail.
Export-wise, the working files and non-working are identical. We’ve pretty much run out of ideas… does anyone out there have any?

not too familar with .swf’s, but i do remember reading on one of the forums that you have to use 5 or lower. 6 upwards certainly doesn’t load / work in vegas.
bit of a bugger really since i quite like textosterone for creating eye candy, well that is, untill i get my head around protitler…

Thank you for the response! I went down the list numerically, and I couldn’t get them to work until I got all the way down to flash player 3. But it doesn’t support certain things like transparency or gradients so it ends up hurting the look of the film. Is there any way I can use at least 6 or above? It sucks because its only happening to a handful of clips. The majority of them play fine no matter what flash player setting I may use.

again, i’m no expert, but from memory i think i used 4, and simply luminance keyed the results in vegas. or maybe chroma keyed? either way, the results were usable.
