has anyone else experienced this – you swap clips on your timelne, no problem. then you attempt to make clip number three – or any clip, really, at the end of the timeline – instead of it making a regular swap, it puts on the end, but keeps it in it’s original position as well… is this a bug in final cut, or is there a keystroke that comes into play when you are swapping to the end of your timeline that i don’t know about??? thanks!

Are you holding down the OPT key when you do this? Depending on the type of arrow you get when you swap, different things happen. A curved arrow swaps the shot, an arrow pointing to the right (downstream) will COPY the shot. make sure you have the curved arrow pointing down.
