  • Swap tracks vertically (Eg Swap V1 with V2)

    Hey Guys,

I do a lot of text compositing work in FCP, and I want to know if there is a quick way to swap entire tracks (or individual pairs of clips) up and down the timeline. EG: swap the entierery of V1 with V2.

    Help would be GREATLY appreciated!

    Thanks.

When I have to do this I simply select the entire V2 track and drag it to V3. Then I do the same to V1 and drag it to V2; then V3 down to V1. It’s a bit clumsy, but it works. I usually mark an in point in case I drag the track to the side by mistake so I can properly align the tracks.

Thanks John, that’s what I currently do. I was hoping there was a quicker way, but I guess I’ll have to persevere. Thanks anyway.
