Surround Sound
Hi – I’m a newbie to surround sound so treat me gently.
I need basic stuff for an installation where I can manipulate the sound under picture. So I have to get my head around surround sound output from FCPX – I have a Mac 5.1 2011 tower with an optical digital display port toslink) an nvidia Quadro K2000 graphics card (and I use the digital outs to give a mini display port support) 64 gig ram loads of storage etc
1st point: I wondered about Logic Pro – but can I get away with FCPX for basic surround work?
2nd: I assume I do not need a sound card because I have optical out – is that correct?
3rd: I can see the surround mixing area and there’s a keyframe which I presume enables you to manipulate sound position of each track throughout the timeline
4th: So – to be able to mix is all that I need a cinema surround system (amp and speakers)?Or am I being naive about all of this?
….and thanks before anyone responds
