Hello all! I am curious if there is way to create a realistic reflection on a layer in AECS3. Here is my project, I have a glass object that is rotating and I would like it reflect the world around it (i.e. light streaks, text), essentially any layer that would it would come in contact with. I am assuming there is someway to do this, I have just been unable to find it.

This is my current work around; I took a layer that extends to the left and right of the glass, duplicated it and inverted the image. Then I took a copy of the rotating glass and place it on top as a track matte. Then dialed the transparency down and added a lens blur.

Something just doesn’t seem quite right to me still though. I am hoping those of you who are a lot more knowledgeable than myself can point me in the right direction.

    Thanks in advance!

What you’re doing sounds about right. For a 3rd party solution, you’ll want to take a look at Conoa3D.
