Hope some can help me. I have a job that I am working on of transfering some Super8 to DVD. Capture went fine in Vegas. I adjusted the film speed to get ride of the jitter on the .avi file. Filmed at 1/60th shutter speed. I have done this several times with 8mm, just not Super8 and I know that there is a frame rate difference. When I run the .mpeg, everything is fine, but somewhere in render to DVD, the final gets some monster waves throughout several scenes. Anyone know why? Is it the conversion to the DVD framerate? I admit that I am at the limit of my knowlegde. I was trying to finish this before Christmas. Any help?

    Thanks,

Hello. I have transferred film professionally for many years. What works well is to transfer the film at 20 frames per second. With a normal three-bladed shutter projector, this will eliminate flicker with the standard 1/60 shutter speed on your video camera. Then take that .avi file into Vegas and slo-mo it at 90% of normal speed. This will in essence make the frame rate 18 frames per second, the standard for silent Super 8 film. It works very well. Vegas slo-mo is very nice.
