Super loud sound crashes
Hey there,
I’ve been encountering this problem for a little while now… I get really loud sound crashes when I randomly press play on my timeline. Mind you these are like 3 times louder than in the recording.
I’m editing with headphones on so they pretty much feel like jumpscares for my brain, I encountered too many last night and I still have a headache from them.
I’m on a Macbook Pro 13″ from 2017.
3.1 GHz Dual-Core Intel Core i5
8 GB 2133 MHz LPDDR3
Intel Iris Plus Graphics 650 1536 MBI encountered the same problem while editing on FCP7 at the office last summer. This was on a black trashcan Mac Pro though.

Your computer is below minimum specifications. Also zero detail on the Resolve version you are running and the OS version. Also codecs used, settings etc etc. Impossible to speculate without any relevant information

I’m on Resolve 16.1.2 and I updated to Catalina 10.15.4. These crashes weren’t happening on the previous OS…
All my footage is in Prores 422. I wasn’t planning on editing a full tv show on my home computer but since the present situation here I am. Pretty sure the issue is that my Macbook is underpowered for this.

Resolve is up to 16.2.1 . I suspect the issue may be based on your computer and OS compatibility. I’m on PC but I haven’t seen comments about loud sound for a while. There were problems for some on earlier versions of Resolve
