  • Suggestions for a cheap quality audio mixer

Posted by Peter Mitchell on July 24, 2011 at 1:54 am

I am looking for an audio mixer that I can plug into my computer. I am looking for about a 4-6 channel mixer. Two for headsets with microphone, one for plugging in an ipod for the option of playing pre-made interviews and advertisements. The last for the option of outputting to a third party video stream when we allow for a different company to do the audio.

I will then put the master out to my computer so it can be streamed to the internet.

    Any suggestions, short budget here.

    thanks

Soundcraft, Mackie or Behringer might fit your needs. Check your local Sam Ash, Guitar Center, etc or do an online search.

    Hello Ryan,

In addition to the brands already suggested, Alesis also carries some low price mixers, as does Yamaha. Sweetwater.com will be a good place to start.

Hello Ryan and welcome to the Cow Audio Forum.

I would be remiss if I didn’t mention that “cheap” and “quality” rarely happen at the same time.

I’m not suggesting you sell the farm to get great sound for the internet, but if audio quality is important to the image your trying to project, don’t cheap out.

    Happy searching,
