  • Suddenly Running Low On Memory??

I’ve been simply dropping clips (AVI) into the timeline to rendering out as M2T files for a 3-DVD project. I drop in about 30 minutes worth of clips and render out. I will then assemble the 6 or so of these larger clips into 3 DVDs. However, now that I’m at the end of these 30 minute blocks to render, Vegas says I running low on memory!!!??? Nothing else is running on the system. Why suddenly does it say it’s running low on memory? I’ve got 16GB of RAM with Vegas set to 8GB Dynamic RAM. I’m rendering out these blocks and then removing them from the timeline and then add the next group. I had no problem with the first 5 groups that I rendered out! Can someone explain what Vegas is doing with all my RAM? Do I need to change some settings somewhere in Vegas… or the computer?

The video files are on one RAID and I’m rendering to another RAID. I’m running Vegas Pro 9.0e on WIN 7 with lots of free disk space.

    Any clue?

    Thanks,

    Ken

Dynamic RAM is not used for rendering and so you are wasting 8GB of RAM that you could be using to render. Set your Dynamic RAM back to the default (350) and you will get 7.65GB of memory back for rendering.
