  Suddenly not able to capture hdv

  G5 with FCP 5.1.2, Sony zu1 hdv camera/deck
  Help- now in 3rd day on this! I’ve been working with hdv footage captured on Sony zu1 and have had no troubles for the past several months. Then suddenly it quit capturing- it attempts to, but stops and stutters, backs up and tries again, over and over until I abort it. I have tried the usual- clearing out 75G of memory on the drive, checking all the settings (Easy set for HDV1080i), trying a different tape, trying a different clip, trying the same clip once done previously with no troubles, and trying to capture a DV clip for an old project (YES that works). Plugging and uplugging the firewire, Re-booting, re-installing FCP…..calling SONY (suggested QT might be corrupt- hence the re-install of FCP. I am stumped.
