Sudden In-Ability to capture 1080i 29.97 with Kona 3’s 10-bit uncompressed preset

In the recent past and since we have had a Mac G5 Pro, we have been logging capturing footage with the Kona 3’s 1080i 29.97 10-bit preset without any problem whatsoever. Now, we have lost the ability to capture any format (720p, 1080p23.98sf, etc), from any deck (SRW-5500, AJ-HD3700B, etc) in a 10-bit setting. 8-bit functions normally, as does capturing in Apple Pro-Res HQ.
We have tried capturing to internal drives as well as external RAID drives using Fibre to no avail.
Sync has been properly applied in all cases and the reference timing from the decks and the Mac look good.
The Kona 3’s current firmware version is 6.0.2. We started with 5 (I can’t remember the revision numbers)
and logging worked well then and was improved when 6.0.2 was installed. It’s been 2 months since 6.0.2 was installed and has been only a week or two since we have been having these issues.Like I stated before, we have captured through 10-bit successfully in the past. In fact, all of our libraried HD footage is in 10-bit. Once we capture footage, it gets moved from the capture drive to an external raid. The capture drive has over 900 gigs worth of free space and we do our best to keep it clean.
Any suggestions?

Sorry I wasn’t more specific.
Capture will end only a few seconds into the material and will claim that a timecode break has occurred. The source tapes do not have timecode breaks, and LTC and VITC match on all of them. Regardless of what HDCAMSR Master I used from our library of tapes, Capture only lasted 2 seconds and declared a timecode break.
The story does change between decks though.Say this is 1080i 29.97:

From the SRW5500 using HDCAMSR tapes, Capture will say a timecode break has occurred.
From the AJ-HD3700B using D-5 tapes, Capture will say it has dropped frames.I am the Stig.

Sounds like your drives might not be fast enough for 10bit. Are you capturing 444 or 422?

Run the AJA System Test on the hard drive (it’s free) and see what your speeds are. If you are able to capture 8 bit and ProRes, it seems 10bit UC would be the culprit.

We aren’t set up to do 444 so most everything is 422.
This started occurring a week or so ago.
Would the drive need a simple defrag?
We have been using the drive as our capture drive for about 4 months now, but like I mentioned, everything that gets captured gets moved to another drive, thus not letting the Capture drive fill up.I am the Stig.
