  • Subtitle problem in DVDA

I’ve searched the forums and have not found any answers so far. The identical problem has been posted by another without an answer.

When adding subtitles to a DVDA project the program reacts by going from say 4 gig to 7 or more so it can’t render it to a single disc.

So far it has corrected itself when all the instances of the mpeg 2 file has been subtitled. But Friday it would not go back to under 4.7 gb (single disc size) and this morning the project failed to open and said it was coruupted.

The DVD has a play all, play program 1, 2, or 3, plus a topic menu
with two pages of approx 7 topics all from a single 55 minute mpeg 2 file.

    Anybody solve this problem?

    Thanks

    Larry

Using DVDA 4.0 I ran into this when having two menu items referencing the same movie (as in “play once”, “play repeat”). Using an existing subtitled project I added 1 more subtitle item and “Disc Space Used” jumped to 7.6G. I then deleted the second menu reference and the disc space went down to normal. I then re-did the menu item (by copy/edit) and this worked ok.
Not sure why subtitles trigger this.
