Subclip names
Still running CatDV 8.1.5 on an MBP using 10.6.4.
I have imported clips into CatDV with names like:
20100726 01-03-23-06 C1 #0025.mov
(Date, timecode, camera, clip serial # in shoot.)I cannot seem to get CatDV to give me subclips with rational names that sort in FCP’s browser adjacent to the master clips whence they come.
When I use Verbatim Logger to insert subclips, if I have set the Preferences > Import > Subclip Naming to:
ClipName-1: I get subclips markers inserted of the form :Name:20100726 01-03-23-06-1
Longclip Name: The name is of the form: :Name: null1)
(ShortClipName #1): The name is of the form :Name: (20100726 01-03-23-06 #1)Is there a way of getting the long clip name as in the original clip? The problem is that if subclips fail to match the original master clip name when they are imported into FCP, they sort out of order in FCP’s browser.
Anyone know how to preserve the original clip name, please? No parentheses. No truncation, but just the original clip name plus a suffix of the subclip number would be A Good Thing.
(I suspect the Longclip Name option giving a name of “null1)” is a bug. Looks like an uninitialized pointer or a null string in the code.)
Thanks in advance
