  styles these days

  any ideas on technique on a couple of styles i see a lot these days

  1- the look i see on the hummer, best buy, and a few other spots with 3d, sometimes 2d elements in a kaleidoscopic thing,

  (is that a kaleidoscope plug like in saphire and 3d elements moving in space? not sure)

  2-writing on, i see a lot of things look like they track matte on using some kinds of brush strokes, is that using brush strokes within AE or do people use matte choker with more rounded edges to reveal.

  do some folks make some kind of premade scribble movie that one could keep in a folder as a stock movie and use it generically to track things on?

  i know so much of whats going on is derivative as hell, but still i like trying to figure it out, and have clients asking me to go in this or that direction.
