Hello folks, new to posting but a long time reader of the site. I have the free version DaVinci Resolve 12. I recorded some gameplay footage of me playing a pc game through Nvidia’s shadow play. it recorded it in mp4. When i open it in quicktime the audio plays fine. When i bring it into resolves the audio sounds corrupted.

my question is what is causing this and is there a simple fix for it ?

    thanks for your time

This question is asked from time to time and the usual culprit is that these non-commercial capture applications use a non-standard, variable frame rate. You may be able to open your captures in something like iMovie or similar, and export a QT movie at a fixed frame rate like 23.98 or 29.97. Most mobile devices also employ this strategy for its advantage in file-size management — in many ways its fine if all you want to do is capture — but if you want to proceed with some kind of post-production, then you have to follow their path and find apps that support non-constant framerates.
