Stupid question
Hi all,
First time poster here.
My stupid question: What is the difference between the standard and pro versions of After Effects? I mean – I know that some plugins/filters are available in Pro that are not in Standard such as displacement maps, but what is the fundemental operating difference?
For instance, If I have both versions of After effects, couldn’t I just copy the Pro’s version “plugins” folder into the Standard’s and have access to all of the same plugins? Surely it couldn’t be that simple – could it?

the adobe site should provide all the differences between the two, but i believe along with the effects, there may be differences in 3d (standard may not have it at all), network rendering…
actually i went and typed “pro only” inthe help menu and found 148 results.

Scripts
Importing camera data from Maya
Smart Mask Interpolationsome effects, most notably:
3D channel effects, Particle Playground, Reshape, Corner Pinning, Displacement map, glow.
And I believe all included 3rd party effects, which is a big deal IMO
