Textbook install, had my freakin’ system cloned, all just went too well, while it installed I watched the whole damn instruction DVD, first thing I tried was FCP, seems to work fine. Then I tried Compressor, and everything works fine until I submit, then no batch window. So it doesn’t work. I trashed it’s half-hour old prefs, did a permissions repair, updated my Kona drivers (not that that mattered to Compressor) and watched the disc TWICE! No batch window.

Soundtrack, Motion seem to work okay, but I’m stuck with no Compressor, and I have encode jobs next week. Looks like I may be using that cloned system, unless someone here has a solution.

Have not tried Color yet, not a priority like Compressor.

I’ve started Compressor batches and had this problem as well, only to find out the jobs indeed were cooking in the BG…but Batch Monitor just didn’t get auto-launched.

After this happens, run BM manually and see what gives.

Yes! That’s what happened, it didn’t launch as advertised on the DVD so naturally I thought it was broken. I clicked on the BM button and there they all were, cooking away. Have to get used to the new interface.

Compressor 3 has a check box setting in the prefs to auto launch BM on submission. The default seems to be unchecked

Now if only someone could demystify Color (groan!)

Thanks to all of you for your efforts in working out the kinks for the rest of us. This is truly a “pay it forward” community. Every one has their turns in sharing and receiving information.

As a side note has anyone had issues with 5.1.2 and when you use the mouse wheel to change the numerical properties in either filter, text, or even transition settings. My pointer will disappear when in FCP. When I switch to a different app it reappears until I switch back to FCP. A relaunch of FCP brings it back until I return to the old habit of scrolling again.

    Bill,

Are you plugged into the USB sloy on your keyboard, or into the CPU? I have ongoing issues when plugging into the keyboard here.

    David,

Matter of fact I do. I have the wireless key for the mouse plugged into the keyboard. Recently I switched from one brand to the fancy logitech with the thumb wheel that I use for zooming in and out. Works very nicely. Anyways, The previous use had a long cable and the mouse hub was behind my keyboard. The new mouse only had the usb dongle so I figured the keyboard would be the best place for the least inteference. I will try the usb on a monitor and if that is still sluky I will just plug it in down below.

THANKS AGAIN! I apologize for jacking the thread.
