  • Stroke mask path reveal overlap problem!

I am trying to do the standard stroke reveal original image using a mask path on this logo! However, to make sure it reveals the whole width of the wider parts of the logo it then reveals parts that I do not want revealed yet (as shown with the ‘e’ lines crossing).

How do I get around this? I tried to create duplicate layers and play about with multiple masks but it never really comes out the way I want it to!

    Thanks in advance!

I’d say you have to split the text (and the matte) onto two layers so that one set of layers contains the beginning of the text up to the top loop of the “e” and the second set the rest.

Or precomp the track matte layer with an animated mask that fixes the problem.

    Thanks for your speedy response!

But I’m not sure what you mean by pre-comping the track matte layer, because I haven’t used any track mattes so far!

If you used a Shape Layer stroke with Trim Paths as a track matte, you could precomp it and temporarily mask out the unwanted reveal where the lines cross.
