  • Streamline Process for Positioning Text Layers

    Hi there.

I want to be able to tell a layer, using some sort of controller, to move to a particular position in a composition as easily as possible.

I’m working on a sports graphic and there is a set of fixtures containing four teams across the middle third of the screen. These teams after 5 seconds push forward towards the camera and then move back into position into a league table. Being a league table, the teams can alternate between positions 1-4.

There are currently four keyframes on each text layer (team): keyframe 1 – start position, 2 – forward position – then about 12 frame hold – 3 – forward position 4 – final league position.

At the minute I am typing in the y position data on each of the four teams in order to place it in the table in the correct position but I was wondering whether there is a way that anyone knows if I could streamline this process and control it in a simpler way. For instance, I don’t think this is possible but if there was a dropdown on each layer and you could select 1,2,3 or 4 and it would alter the end position based on what you chose.

Does that make sense? I hope so. I look forward to hearing back.

    Thanks in advance.

    Andrew
