I need advise again on making streaming videos, I am using wmv, although I probably should use flash videos, but Vegas does not make flash.

So I am using WMV9 , which then gives an option of CBR / CBR 2 pass/ Bit rate CBR / Quality VBR

What do these mean, ? Which of these should be used, I suspect the movies produced with the Quality VBR are larger files, I need to restrict the size without loosing too much quality.

Also, should I be using the WM9 advanced profile ?

My constraints are movies size of about 5MB / minute, given the rather low quality Broad Band we have in Australia

[Joseph] “CBR / CBR 2 pass/ Bit rate CBR / Quality VBR”

    CBR – Constant Bit Rate
    VBR – Variable Bit Rate
CBR 2 pass – I suspect you really mean VBR 2 pass which is still Variable Bit Rate but it does it in 2 passes to better optimize the bitrate used on any particular scene.

BTW, if you click on the “mode” drop down box which gives you those options and then click on the “?” in the title bar of that dialog box, it will pop up the help file description for each one of those entries.
