    Hello

I have searched the forums for the last couple of days and found that there have been a few frustrated heads out there with the same problem FCP is giving me at the moment. I have been given 120 hrs of HDV 1080/60I footage to be digitized, and nearly every tape is coming up with ‘stream problem’ . I am using the following:

    SONY HVR-M25E DECK
    2 X 2.26 GHZ QUAD-CORE INTEL MAC PRO
    FCP 6.0.5
    OSX 10.5.6
FCP CODEC- FIREWIRE HDV 1080/60 AT 29.97FPS

I am based in london and have been using FCP for over 5 years and every project that we shoot on HDV in 25p or 50i has had no problems at all in any way by using any pervious mac set up and including my current set up. I have de-selected all the t/c warnings in user preferences and the ‘create new clip on start/stop’ in the logging window.

I am slowly going mad with this as even the t/c breaks in the tapes with stop digitizing in it’s tracks, and this is with both capture now and log and capture regardless of the clip length. All the footage has been shot on either SONY HDV STOCK OR SONY MINI DV STOCK but they still both throw up the same problems.

We even tried the tapes in another HVR-M25 deck on an older G5 with the following set up:

    FCP 6.0.1
    OSX 10.5.7
    MAC G5 4 X 2.5GHz

and it still throws up the same ‘stream problem’ message. Nearly all the footage was shot in south america and some in london, (am clutching at straws!!)

    thanks

    simon

Most such issues I recall have been interformat problems. There was probably something askew on the originating camera.

I hope you get a decent suggestion other than “try to get the camera.” Could take a few more days for folks to check in and read your post.
