Strange question?
Hi new here, I was curious.
As FCP editor, I got ask the most bizarre request. I have a client who does legal work, mostly tapping depositions here in ohio.Here’s what he asked?
He wants to know is it possible to have the legal transcript appear at same time as the video on screen. Simple enough ” A split screen or text over video” But what he asked next confused the crap out of me.
“Is it possible to program the video so, that I can have like specific key words go to a certain moment in the video automatically.” (Example: If the person says I wasn’t at disney land and I can use the video to go to that point in the video were he says “disney” it and matches with the transcript)If your head hasn’t exploded yet, then I commend you. Can you do this? Sure maybe with chapter markers on a DVD. But he’s asking for word specific points in the video. Is that even possible? A search function that can be programed into the movie?

The closest thing to this I have heard of is using Avid and its Script Sync feature:

QuickTime movies can have all sorts of embeded metadata – time-based links to html pages and the like.
The movie and the html pages can run concurrently in a single window.The application best suited for this is LiveStage Pro:
