I used my DR100 to play back backing tracks at a gig last night – maybe it’s overkill, but it’s great being able to attach it to the keyboard stand using the tripod bolt.
But I found an interesting problem (luckily while testing, not at the gig): When I played back a mono WAV, it played back at double speed! I converted it to a dual mono WAV and it played fine. Anyone else with a DR100 come across this? The original file plays back normally on a computer. It’s a 32bit floating point 44.1Khz file, probably exported from Audacity.

Hello Paddy and welcome to the Cow Audio Forum.

I have run across this before, but it’s been sometime. In addition to stereo/mono, I’ve also encountered it with sample rate and bit rate differences.

Not all the time, but sometimes. Maybe reach out to Tascam and let them know.
