  Strange issue with reconnect media windows

  I’m using FCP 5.1.4, and I’m trying to reconnect media from an imported XML file that was created in FCP 6. There are 2 problems:

  1) The media clips’ names in the project differ from there matching files on the drives, so FCP doesn’t find them. Is there anyway to re-link these files?

  2) If I click ‘locate’ or ‘search’, then switch to any other program, even the Finder, when I switch back to FCP the windows are frozen… the search window doesn’t respond at all… all I can do is click ‘Skip file’ in the reconnect window. I have to then force quit and lose all the files I’ve already located. Anyone had this problem… seems really strange?
