Strange horizontal lines on the sides of the video

It may have something to do with the fact that your image file is 1366 X 768. (as per one of your screen capture)

A lot of vendors out there are trying to make you believe that 1366 X 768 is just as good as a 1920 X 1080 HD. The 1366 X 768 size is just short by a few pixels of a proper 16/9. And it’s not HD. That could be the source of your problem. Try recording a short piece of the same event with the proper HD parameters and see it that helps.

Also, you could use Track Motion to ”remove” those nasty looking lines after you’re done with your editing, would that be an acceptable quick fix for you ?

If that’s not acceptable you can go into Pan/Crop on each of the events and right-click on the frame window and select Match Output Aspect to get your video to match the 16:9 aspect of your project.

I post videos on YouTube. And my laptop can give a maximum resolution of 1366:768. Even though I know that Youtube will reduce the quality to 720p, my broken brain somehow suggests that I need is achieved the maximum quality out of my videos. Because it then video will become more clearer and more enjoyable. Although I may be terribly wrong, I do not know what YouTube does with the videos. Tomorrow I will try to record a segment of video with 720p, maybe it really helps. And yes, I do not know how to remove these lines with the help of Track Motion, I think it will be too difficult for me.

Thank you John Rofrano for the advice, but I have already tried to do this. I pressed all the buttons that appeared when you clicked on the right mouse button, nothing happens.

It is so strange that when watching a video through Windows Media there are no lines. And when you upload a video to Vegas, they immediately appear. Hmm….

Nah, even when I recorded a video segment in 720p, I still see this strange line. If you play video in Windows Media, then these lines will not be. This is weird. Perhaps this is somehow related to the recording method.

I often used a very complicated screen capture method. When using it, I spent a lot of time, but there were no problems. The video that I am doing now was recorded by an easier method. There is no difference in video quality, and the time spent on video recording has greatly decreased. I really don’t want to go back to the old video recording method ☹

Do you have any other ideas on how to remove these lines?

Can you post a screen shot of what you are seeing?

BTW, my method of matching output aspect will only work if you set the Project aspect up correctly first. If you want to crop to 720p then first set your Project Properties to 1280x720p and then use the Pan/Crop Match Output Aspect ratio setting. That should crop your image to 1280×720 (16×9)
